Installation & Use
This gas generator exhaust filter is fully assembled and ready for use. Installation is quick and easy.
Step 1
Place generator in your desired location, and in a well ventilated area.
Step 2
Remove Carbon Trap from the reusable bag.
Step 3
Holding the Carbon Trap, orient the assembly so the white dot on the metal collar is facing up.
Step 4
Loosely screw the thumb screw into the threaded hole on the rod guide mounted on the side of the Carbon Trap.
Step 5
Insert the 45.5 cm rod provided approximately halfway into the rod guide. Lightly tighten the thumb screw.
Step 6
Position the assembled rod and Carbon Trap at the exhaust port of the generator so the metal collar on the Carbon Trap is no closer than 3-4 inches away from the exhaust port. Orient the white dot on the top of the Carbon Trap to the centre line of the exhaust port.
Step 7
When you are comfortable with the position of the Carbon Trap, use a hammer to tap the metal rod provided into the ground 3–4 inches.
Step 8
Loosen the thumb screw and slide the Carbon Trap along the rod to centre the collar on the Carbon Trap to the exhaust port. Tighten the thumb screw with a wrench.
Step 9
Start the generator and ensure exhaust gases are traveling directly down the middle of the Carbon Trap and exiting out unobstructed. Further adjustment may be needed to achieve full efficiency.
